The Bathroom is getting closer!

We laid the vinyl down. Put the self adhesive vinyl molding up. I attached the cabninet in place. We mounted the light fixture. Only thing left is installing the toilet and sink and the door. Oh and the power needs to be wired so the light will turn on or it is going to be dark in there?

More Improvements

We painted last weekend. We used drywall primer from Home Depot but the paint we got from Metro as recycled paint. We chose their light grey.

I created railing for the other side of the stairs.

Tuesday Quin and I laid the subflooring. I finished cutting the rest today. I still need to nail it all off which I will probably do tomorrow.

Mud and texture

The drywall guys finished texturing today. The upstairs is ready to paint. After the paint is done we just have to lay down the subflooring and then vinyl tile. We are getting close?

Upstairs Shop is drywalled!

These pictures look so cool! It is going to be finished with tape and texture tomorrow. These guys are fast! Only 2 days to do this whole thing. It would have taken Chris and I over a couple of weekends. I can't believe it has been 10 years since we started this project.

Bathroom progress

I have drywalled the bathroom. I got the particle board floor down. I just finished painting it with primer. It took me several days to get the drywall mud sanded down and all the seams smooth.

The drywall contractors came by today and looked at my work. I got a eye roll from the guy who does this for a living and he said he could fix if for me. Made me feel like a dork. I'd like to see him program a computer?

We are itchy!

We spent all day putting up insulation. The upstairs is starting to look like a cave now. I am so glad we are doing this in March and not August! We wore long sleaves, gloves and facemasks.

We were able to get everyone to get their stuff out of the shop so it was completely empty while we worked.

We cleaned out the upstairs shop! OMG

We spent all day saturday cleaning out what was left in the upstairs shop. Most of it is now in the patio waiting to go to the dump or goodwill. The downstairs shop is even more packed with stuff. It is such a mess I didn't even want to take a picture of it!

Upstairs Shop Bathroom Progress

Chris and I put in the insulation on the outside walls for the bathroom this weekend. It is now ready to be drywalled.

We have a waterline in the Shop!

I did the same thing with plumbing that I did with the electrical. I called a plumber to come out and install the water line to the shop and plumb the upstairs bathroom and install the sink downstairs. It only took 3 hrs and everything is done! Paul's Plumbing did a fantastic job. They used the flexible waterline now used in new construction.

The Shop work continues

I finally decided the only way the electrical was going to get done was if I called an electrician and had it done. So thats what I did. Pionner electric came out and wired my entire upstairs. With a 3-way switch for the can lights and all the outlets including the wiring in the new bathroom. I had to frame the dormer ceilings and build a short wall by the stairs for the switch before they arrived.

More cabinets

I finally built my upper cabinets and a set of doors for the lower cabinets. I built one set of doors for the uppers out of pegboard so I could hang my tools on them.
